Last update before Vegas

I haven't gotten a chance to play much since my 3rd place finish on Sunday. On Monday I finished 16th in a $20 rebuy 6-max NL MTT on FTP for $134 and 13th in a $10 NL MTT on FTP for $43. Tonight I played in a $13 turbo double shootout satty on ps and a $16 rebuy turbo on ps, one for a $530 seat to the Sunday Million and the other for a $530 seat in one of the WCOOP events. It doesn't matter to me which one because I would probably just take the tourney credits. Anyways I won my first table in the shootout and we got 3-handed at the final table. I was big stack and another guy was close and there was a shorty. 2nd stack made standard raise on button and I called from the sb with QJos. Flop J high and we get the money in...(keep in mind its a turbo so its get all the money in or fold at this point)... he has KJ and I'm crippled and never catch up. In the other one I was about avg with 2 tables to go with 3 people getting the $530 seat, and I lost a flip for all my money that would've put me about 2nd or 3rd in chips. I feel like I'm playing the best tournament poker I've ever played right now. Hopefully its just a matter of time until I hit a big one. I have a decent enough roll to play bigger tourneys now, so thats good. I also played 4 $33 sngs yesterday and went a nice 1 0 2 1 for a pretty good profit.

Well Stephanie and I leave for Las Vegas Saturday morning. Her 21st birthday is on Sunday and we'll be coming back next Wednesday. I'll probably only play poker once or twice, and for a short time, because we're going for her birthday, not for my poker lol. Also I've just now signed up at PocketFives.com. I like their ranking system there and there isn't a whole lot of competition in Alabama there, as I'm already ranked 48th out of pocketfives Alabama players after just a couple cashes... I'd like to work my way up the Alabama leaderboard though, that's one of my goals.

Tourneys...

I decided last week that I was going to mix in some more MTTs because I miss playing them and sngs get boring. Well Sunday I played a few and busted in most, but got 3rd in a $11 turbo with 1100 people for a nice $990. My roll is now sufficient enough for me to safely play $30 sngs when I want to. As I type this I'm still in 2 tourneys right now... a $20 rebuy 6max on FTP and we're ITM in a $10 on FTP. I'm below avg in both though so wish me luck!

2nds are getting annoying...

But I still run good.... 1-3-1-2 in my session of 7 sngs tonight... That's a record high in the amount of tables I've played at once. I'm not sure I could handle 8, but I may give it a shot. My laptop isn't a widescreen so that makes it tougher... Still a nice night though. I think I'm going to transfer the rest of my money over to stars from UB and play more sattys and move up to $30+3 sngs... I know I'm just having a good run and the cards will eventually stop coming, but I feel like I can play good enough to move on up. I'm going to use a minimum of 40 - 50 buyins for my sng roll, and I'm not going to go beyond that. I'm going to try it out at least until I can move up to the $50s. Hopefully I can build a nice roll up over the next few months.... I'll continue to update. 3-4-1-11 so far this week through 19 sngs.

I ran well in sngs the few times I played last week. From Wednesday to Sunday I went 4-10-2-15... A whole lot of 2nds... Would be nice if some were 1sts, but they're better than 3rds. Today I ran bad and got some beats put on me... of course I put beats on people too though. After 2 sessions of 12 sngs (6-table sessions) I ran 2-1-0-9.. which is a small loss. My first session consisted of a 2nd and 5 bustos, so at least I had a decent second session. Not much else is going on poker-wise.. just got about $135 rakeback at UB... ship ship.. Played a few turbo double shootouts for the Sunday Million on stars Sunday.. Won my first table on one of em... Top 4 got a seat... 7 handed I think, I get AA and we get allin 3-way... AA vs QQ vs AA... Guess who won? Yeah and he hit the flop and turn... 4 Queens > Aces up.. lol Oh well it happens. I'm having fun playing again and feel like I'm at the top of my game.. Sometimes I get stubborn when, like today, I have AJ on a A 10 3 7 board and just knew I was beat, but I still call because the pot is big and lose my stack to A10... I feel that if I can start making better laydowns, I'll be on my way... I don't play the turbo sngs anymore, so its less of a crap shoot and if I can lay hands down I'm still fine... Those middle levels are when I get most of my chips... around that 50/100 to 75/150 level... I'm going to try to play about 100 a week, but it may be tough to find that much time... 12 down today... 88 to go through Sunday.... hopefully
