My return to poker triggers my inevitable return to bad beats

Well I only deposited $55 into Pokerstars. This gives me 5 buy-ins to the $10+1 sngs. Obviously this is poor bankroll management, but as I said in my last post, I'm looking to go on a heater to start building up. If I fail this time, I'll just try $55 more next week. So anyway, the sngs were horrible. I somehow got a donk to donate his whole stack to me early in one when this happened.......

..... but other than that, it was horrible. Here begins the whining!!

sng #1 - 7th

I end up in the small blind in about the third level with QQ... The button raises and we eventually get it all in on a flop of J 7 7... He has KK.. Pretty much a cooler in that position.

sng #2 - 7th

Folds around to sb who raises about 3X bb... I'm in bb with QQ... I push for about 8 or 9X more his raise. He instacalls with AJ... pretty flop... Ace turn.

sng #3 - 5th

We get it allin preflop... Me 1010 him AJ... X X X X A... but we all know I don't win flips :).. It just has to come on the river.

sng #4 - 5th

I get short-stacked late with about 1000 chips with blind levels at 100/200. It's 5-handed and I get KJ in the cut-off so obv I push, called by 66... flop 5 5 6.

sng #5 - 3rd

I'm in complete dominating, pwning, crushing, destroying, demolition, etc. etc. etc. mode 4-handed with about half the chips, and carry about the same lead into 3-handed play. I get AA in the bb and the button mini-raises to 400. I make it 1000 and he calls. Flop 2 2 4 rainbow, I check cause its a beauty and hes a donkey. He bets just 200 lol. I raise to 1000 he calls. Turn 10, I put him in for about 1200, he calls with 99. River 9. I'm still in decent shape though. I'm committed to call an allin for about 2500 with A7dd vs KJ... K turn obv. I go dead with blinds at 200/400 and have to push on button with 109dd, called by Q10. I lose.

So the moral of the story is... I'm giving up poker for good......

















Yeah right whatever. I'm gonna keep tryin till I catch my heater. Honestly, the players I saw today were so bad, I don't need a heater. I just need average luck... just average luck. Not good luck, not decent luck, just like to win every now and then when I'm ahead. Just like 1 or 2 times, thats all, and I will TPMM. JK anyways, I'm rambling and its time to go to a Halloween party so peace out.......

Its not that I've been away from it totally, I just haven't played online in a long time. I put a little bit of money in Full Tilt the other day and played some low limit NL cash games for a little while. What I'm going to do is start playing sngs again, at least thats the plan right now. I'll probably play some cash games too, but I want to 4-table $10 sngs and try to build up a new bankroll. I realize this may take a while, but I'm not relying on this as my only income anymore, so I won't have to withdraw money for rent and stuff, so hopefully I can move up at a decent pace. Since Partypoker has stopped allowing U.S. citizens to play at their site, I'm guessing Pokerstars and Fulltilt are probably going to be the main places alot of these people will move to, so hopefully the fish will still be plentiful. I'm still not sure if I'm going to play mainly at FT or PS. Probably a little bit at both. I'll probably start playing the sngs again in about a week or so, and I'll start posting results on here again. Obviously I'll be playing above my bankroll in the beginning, because I only plan to deposit about $100, but maybe I can have a good start and make it work, and eventually fall into place with the normal bankroll management guidelines. I can't put a whole lot in there right now, cause I'm still working on paying some people back who helped me out when I couldn't find a job. Once I'm clear of all my debt though, I'll be able to focus more on poker, which is still what I love to do. Well thats all for now, I'll update when I get back in the game.

New job

Ok, well I got the job I was talking about in my last post. I'm being trained to be an Estimator at a grading and paving company, and I like it so far. It's in the civil engineering area, which is far from my MIS background, but I don't care. I get my first check tomorrow (Friday) so I'm planning on partying it up this weekend in Auburn. We play Arkansas at 12:00 eastern on Saturday, and I'm probably going to the game. My dad has 2 tickets and he'll probably be meeting me there, but I'll be in Auburn all weekend with my friends regardless if I go to the game or not. We should be able to take the Razorbacks, but they're no crappy team by any means, so anything can happen.

I'm planning on making a deposit into one of my poker accounts within the next few weeks (not sure which site though). I wanted to go with Party Poker, but since Congress passed a bill about banning U.S. citizens from transferring money between their bank accounts and offshore poker accounts, Party Poker is one of the big name sites who says they will stop doing business with U.S. citizens altogether... (at least thats the way I understand it). I'm sure some sites will remain available, as long as there are ways around it. As long as Neteller and similar middle-man companies are around, it seems there will be a way around it. The bill still has to get past Bush anyway before any panic should arise. It should still be a long process, even if the ban is successful.

Well theres not really much more going on with me right now... Just the same stuff really, but less partying because I have to get up at 6:00 during the week because of work, which is fine. I don't need to be out until 3:00 on Wednesday nights anyway I guess. It just makes me appreciate my weekends alot more, because everyday is no longer like a weekend day for me like it has been for a while. Well I guess thats it for now... Lata!!
