Just about that time

Its about that time. School is over and I'm finally an Auburn graduate. WAR EAGLE!! So anyway, poker is about to be my only source of income just like it has been for the last year or so. The only thing is that I'm about to move out of my parents' house, so its time to get VERY serious about this game. Poker has provided me with plenty of money for me and my gf to go out to eat and to the movies, for me to go out on the weekends, for beer money, for Christmas gifts I had to buy, etc........ but now, it will have to pay bills. No more weeks of playing only 20 to 30 sngs.... no more weeks of getting up $500 and saying.. "thats fine for a few days, I'll take off the rest of the week." Its going to be a grind, and I'm ready.

Oh and if you're wondering about my goal I had... well, I didn't have enough time, like usual, to play that many sngs. I only played around 50 or so, and I had one horrible run where I didn't cash in 12 in a row...... 12 IN A ROW! I've never hit a rough spot like that before, and it hurt. I still managed to break about even in that time frame, but with all the money I got for graduation, I was able to reimburse my bankroll back to the good ol $1,500...... perfect for $50 sngs. I only played 31 sngs the week before Christmas, and I had a pretty good week for such a small sample size......

Partypoker
$50+5
played = 31
1st = 4
2nd = 4
3rd = 6
ITM = 45.16%
ROI = 29.03%

profit = +$495

Once again, I didn't have much time to play. This time because of Christmas shopping and junk, and because I sleep till noon... :) But one thing is for sure, I'm about to start playing more.... I have time now. So I cashed out $500 a few days ago, and my roll is sitting at $1,517.48 at the moment. I'll update later this week.

A Goal...

I've been having bad luck in multis and steps lately, and after cashing out some Christmas money, my roll has been slipping a little. This is forcing me to drop my SNG play from $50s back down to $30s for a little while, just until I can build some of it back. I have set a goal for myself in the next 10 days, (Friday Dec. 9th - Sunday Dec. 18th). Since I am mostly done with school, except for graduation and a couple things I still have to finish for my professors, I have some time for poker. So in that 10-day time period, my goal is to play 130 SNGs ($30 buy-in) and make at least $800. I know its not a big enough sample size to guarantee anything, but I'm going to try my best. I'll update in the next few days to show where I'm at in my quest.

School winding down.....

I haven't updated lately because, well, I haven't been playing much. School is almost over with, and I'm approaching final exams, final projects, certifications I have to get, etc. I've been playing mini-steps occasionally though, and I've started liking them again. Earlier this year I got to step 5 and won it, and didn't really try anymore until now. I made it to step 4 tonight, but I don't feel like playing it right now, I'm too tired. I also played a stud multi on party today and almost made the final table. That would've been nice, but oh well. I haven't been able to play enough to keep stats and junk, so I'm just gonna hold off on those until I graduate this month. December 16th... please get here fast!

But anyway, sometime in January I'm moving out with a friend. With this happening and no more school, I'll be able to concentrate fully on poker during the day. Having that degree will make me feel better too, so I know that job opportunities are always open. Well I'm going to bed, I may update a couple more times before I graduate, but I'm not sure. One thing is for sure... I'm ready to play poker for a living!!
