can you tell I'm bored?

Here's the beauty of this game... I just got top 2 pair on the flop, and I want to keep them in the hand... Against your average guy, I'd set a bear trap... hardly bet at all, let him walk into it... but jvaught54 and exdet are too smart for that. So what I've got to do is over-bet the pot... make it look like I'm trying to buy it. Then they play back at me, and I get paid off.

BrandonAU raises to $6
rykchuk stands up
jvaught54 raises to $8.60, and is all in
exdet calls $7.10
BrandonAU calls $2.60

My guess is jvaught54 and exdet are on a flush draw...

*** TURN *** [3s 7h 4s] [4h]

There's my money card, the 4 of hearts... I've got a full house.

BrandonAU checks
exdet checks

Now I hope a spade falls and jvaught54 and exdet make their flush... That way exdet will call an all-in and I'll beat him with my fours full over sevens.

*** RIVER *** [3s 7h 4s 4h] [9s]
BrandonAU bets $15.15, and is all in
exdet calls $15.15

Ok maybe that was kinda lame.. but anyways.... I'm pretty much even, maybe up a little, so far on Full Tilt. Not long after this hand, on another table I stacked off with AsQd on an Ad6d2d board, or else I'd be up about $50 or $60. I've had a little bit of success at the HU sngs so far, so I'll probably mix some of those in with NL cash and 9man sngs... rakeback is always a good thing too.. well I don't really have anything else right now.

update...

Gatlinburg was fun for the most part. We don't get much snow here.. maybe once every couple of years.. and it probably only sticks once every 4 or 5 years.. so we were happy when we heard that it was supposed to snow the weekend we were there. Well, it never did.... until the day we were supposed to leave. It snowed pretty hard that morning, and we were happy to see snow, but we never thought we would get TOO MUCH snow. We left the cabin in 2 groups.. the first group left about 30 minutes before we did, and they got down the mountain just fine (both of their vehicles). When we tried to leave, the roads had already become too slick to make the trip down. We started going down, and I looked in my rear-view mirror only to see David had slid off the road. A few more feet and his Durango and everybody in it would've been gone. Well, they probably would've only rolled once or twice and hit a tree and stopped, and probably lived, but you know what I mean. It was kinda close. So then we figured out alot of other cars had already wrecked trying to go down and both roads were blocked (there are only 2 roads down the mountain). So David had to get his truck towed out, and we all had to leave our cars in a parking lot close to where we were, and we walked back to the cabin. We were snowed in for another day. We all had to miss work Tuesday, but nobody was really complaining much. Most of the complaining had to do with us not having a whole lot of food left. Anyway, we were able to get down Tuesday so we didn't have to miss another day of work or anything. Funny how we all wanted it to snow soooo bad, and we all got more than we bargained for. I think we got 4-6 inches from Monday morning to Tuesday afternoon, which the people who lived there said was usually unheard of. This one couple said they have only been snowed in a handful of times in the 20 years they have had a cabin there.

Well so far I've played 50 sngs on FTP and am up $35. Just getting started up. I'm looking forward to earning rakeback finally. I'm going to use up all the rest of my FPPs on Pokerstars on 1-table sng sattys to $11 tourneys. I'll then unregister and use the tourney dollars in sngs and try to build up a little money to cash out. I've already cashed out all the cash I have in there last night, which wasn't much. I have a little over 5k FPPs left I think.. so it may take a while playing 70FPP sngs. Well thats all for now.

ugghhhhhhhhhhh.....

Maybe I'm not quite ready for cash games. SNGs just come more naturally to me. I had a bad day in limit... losing around $200 after 3k hands or so... It sucked. I know I was kind of running bad, but I probably played badly too. I'm just not confident playing a game that I don't have much experience in, and I probably have quite a few leaks. Tomorrow I'm going to switch back and play some SNGs, but instead of 6-max turbo, I'm going to play the 9-man non-turbos. These are where the bulk of my SNG profit has come from, and I don't think they are all that swingy. I'll be playing the $11 buy-ins.

In non-poker related news, a bunch of us are going up to Gatlinburg, TN this weekend. I have Friday off, and Monday is a holiday, so I could use this short little vacation. We've rented a big 8 or 9 bedroom cabin that has a hot tub, pool table, air hockey, flat screens in all bedrooms, big theater style screen in the living room, etc. etc. etc. Most people are skiing also, although I haven't decided yet if I am or not. I may just save the $50+ and chill... who knows. Well thats all for now.

First 2 sessions at 1/2 6-max...

+ $12.25 in my first session of 1,175 hands. - $24.50 in my second of 973 hands. So I'm down a total of $12.25 after 2,148 hands. Not terrible for my first day I don't think. Man, the action is crazy at short-handed limit. I love it. The only bad thing is the rake. In under 3 hours I played over 2k hands (mostly 10-tabling). I paid $115.50 in rake... wow. I guess the good thing about it is that I really racked up VPPs/FPPs. I had to play a decent amount of $13 sngs before just to be Silverstar... Playing 1/2 6-max limit, I'll be Goldstar soon, and I'll probably be Platinum Star before the end of the month. This means $$$$FPPs.. I'm getting 1.5 FPPs per 1 VPP being Silverstar... Goldstar gets 2 FPPs per 1 and Platinum is 2.5 per 1.. Anyways, I lost a couple of big pots multi-way when either my flush didn't get there, or their's did. I sucked out a couple times, but I think waaaay more money went in when I was good and I ended up losing than went in when I was behind and ended up winning. This is a good sign to me that I'm playing well. I've been such a nit in sngs, which is normal, that all this aggression feels un-natural, but I'm starting to like it. I'm just not used to capping AJos or 3-betting K10 pf out of position... but thats the way it goes. Taking the lead in pots is huge in this game. I think I'll really enjoy limit again. I think I have a much better concept of how to play than I did back in the day when I used to play 5/10 on Pacific Poker. Time will tell I guess.

update from work...

Haven't updated in a while. I've only been able to play a little bit of limit so far, but have still been running pretty well so far. I think I'm up like $85 or so at .5/1.00 6max after 1.3k hands. I may dabble in some 1/2 tonight since I guess my bankroll permits it. Well back to work. Ill try to update later.

still running bad... about to switch it up

After 481 games at the $13 buyin level, I'm at a very disappointing profit of $147.80 for an ROI of 2.36%. SNGs are getting old again, so I'm going to switch to something else for a while... limit holdem.

LOL I used to play limit alllll the time. I need to play something with lower variance because of these swings that are killing me right now. Also, you only need about 300 big bets to be properly rolled, so I have enough to play lots of tables of .50/1.00 at once. And its much easier to multitable full ring limit than SNGs. I'll play a few thousand hands then I'll decide from there where I wanna go. ok thats all for tonight...
